I love the fact that God takes us out of our comfort zones. He didn’t make us to just be average. He knows what we are capable of with his power. He is majestic in every way, and reflected throughout our day in all we do. It is amazing how you see him in every moment.
We have begun our week here in Kampala, Uganda, where we are ministering to the children at the Good Samaritan Children’s Center. We had church with the children and staff on Sunday, and also received and assembled 100 new beds.
We were privileged to be a part of the giving of the beds, because it was so powerful! The children were so pleased to have them. Before we brought these beds, the children were sleeping on dirty, thin, foam mattresses on the concrete floor. And in most cases, two children were forced to share each small foam mattress.
To say it was like Christmas when we gave them their new beds would be a gross understatement.
There were tears of joy and unimaginable gratitude expressed to our team. That in itself was completely breathtaking and left us without words to express back to them. The children sat on their new beds and one by one received a Bible. With tears streaming down their faces, they would say to us, “God bless you.” We came to share blessings, but were blessed ourselves by their gratitude.
I can hardly wait to see what God has in store and to see where he will take this team. Lives are being changed here in Uganda, and not just the children’s. We are richly blessed!
