JOIN US ON A MISSION TRIP. HAND-DELIVER HOPE

Mission trips have been a Sweet Sleep tradition since 2003, and we believe in the importance of these experiences for the women and children we serve, as well as the donors, volunteers, and champions God has called to this ministry.

Sharing God’s love and hope in Christ, and seeing His love manifest in the interactions between beneficiaries and volunteers create once in a lifetime experiences for both the children and our team members, and are a tangible way that God connects each of us from very different walks of life, but who are all equally loved and made in His image.

Visiting these locations is also a critical step in truly understanding poverty and the orphan crisis. We are very intentional about educating our volunteers in effective missions ministry, poverty alleviation, and being an impactful part of the solution.

HOW MANY LIVES WILL YOU IMPACT AND FOREVER CHANGE AS YOU GO?

Extended Discipleship Experience (June 14 - 30, 2024)

If you’ve wanted the opportunity to spend an extended amount of time in Uganda for the ultimate experience, this trip is for you!

Journey with Sweet Sleep to Kampala to disciple and encourage members of our CO•OP (economic development) groups. The first week will be spent focusing on discipleship where you will learn “storying” – our orality discipleship model that has resulted in a 33% increase in decisions for Christ, and spend time in small-group village settings with the women of our CO•OPs.

The CO•OPs consist of 10-12 adults who are caring for orphaned and vulnerable children. They work together to create a business and to develop spiritually along the way.

Team members will get a hands-on experience by doing some of the types of jobs the CO•OP members used to do, like clearing fields, washing clothes, or quarrying gravel, as well as learning about and participating in their current CO•OP business activities.

Team members will learn about the struggles and successes of the group members and engage in discipleship, encouragement, and evangelism within the groups, including Muslim members.

This small discipleship team will be joined by our larger family mission trip at the end of the first week, where you’ll proceed on to Gulu to deliver beds to vulnerable children in villages in Northern Uganda.
