JOIN US ON A MISSION TRIP. HAND-DELIVER HOPE
Mission trips have been a Sweet Sleep tradition since 2003, and we believe in the importance of these experiences for the women and children we serve, as well as the donors, volunteers, and champions God has called to this ministry.
Sharing God’s love and hope in Christ, and seeing His love manifest in the interactions between beneficiaries and volunteers create once in a lifetime experiences for both the children and our team members, and are a tangible way that God connects each of us from very different walks of life, but who are all equally loved and made in His image.
Visiting these locations is also a critical step in truly understanding poverty and the orphan crisis. We are very intentional about educating our volunteers in effective missions ministry, poverty alleviation, and being an impactful part of the solution.
HOW MANY LIVES WILL YOU IMPACT AND FOREVER CHANGE AS YOU GO?
20 Year Anniversary Trip (October 27 - November 5, 2023)
Join us as we conclude our year-long celebration of TWENTY YEARS OF MINISTRY! Now recruiting long-time mission trippers, reunited old friends, and fresh new faces to travel with us to Uganda this fall. We will be hand delivering beds, getting our hands and feet dirty with CO•OPs, and for the first time ever, our team will break ground at our new working farm! You will not want to miss this amazing opportunity.
Uganda – Bed Delivery & CO•OP Visits (custom dates available)
Journey with Sweet Sleep to remote villages of Northern Uganda to provide beds, Bibles, and mosquito nets to orphaned and vulnerable children, many of whom are HIV+ or have special needs. Spend the week visiting different distribution sites in the Gulu area and ministering to hundreds of children, caretakers, and people from neighboring villages.
As you learn more about Uganda and the vulnerabilities of these children, you’ll have the opportunity to visit Sweet Sleep CO•OPs, and discover how you can be a part of a lasting solution that empowers families to provide for themselves in sustainable ways!
Uganda – Take your VBS to Kampala (custom dates available)
Take your VBS to Uganda! Journey with Sweet Sleep to provide bunk beds, Bibles, and mosquito nets to children who have been orphaned, abandoned, or rescued from dangerous living conditions, while also interacting with and investing in children at the Good Samaritan Children’s Home.
Team members will not only deliver beds, but also conduct VBS-style activities — Bible study, arts and crafts, music, and recreation while sharing the Gospel in fun and unique ways.
This trip is ideal for a cohesive group, such as from one church, which will allow for the group to easily plan and execute their own Kampala VBS!
Uganda – CO•OP Discipleship (custom dates available)
Journey with Sweet Sleep to Kampala or Gulu, Uganda (or both!) to disciple and encourage members of our CO•OP (economic development) groups.
The CO•OPs consist of 10-12 adults who are caring for orphaned and vulnerable children. They work together to create a business and to develop spiritually along the way.
Team members will get a hands-on experience by doing some of the types of jobs the CO•OP members used to do, like clearing fields, washing clothes, or quarrying gravel, as well as learning about and participating in their current CO•OP business activities.
Team members will learn about the struggles and successes of the group members and engage in discipleship, encouragement, and evangelism within the groups, including Muslim members.
